Ron and Joanne Whisler and Carol Taktikian met in Orlando area while jamming with other old time musicians. One weekend Carol
was invited to the Whisler home to spend the night because they were playing at the Barberville Pioneer Settlement Spring
Festival with another group and the drive was farther from her house.
That evening they started jamming and decided to record some tracks and were surprised and delighted with what they heard and
decided to take it further and start the "Just In Time" band.
Their first gig was at the Hot Spot Coffee Shop in Daytona Beach in October of 2008 and they have played at Barberville Pioneer Settlement
Spring and Fall Festivals, Lake County Folk Festival, Ormond Seafood Festival, Riverfest Music Festival, Rally for the River in Putnum County, Oak Hill Heritage Festival, Enterprise Heritage Festival, Infusion Tea Room, Osteen Diner, Olivia's Coffeehouse and Bistro, just to name a few.
After the passing of Joanne Just In Time integrated the washboard rhythms of Chuck Spano to fill out their sound.
Just in Time has also won awards in Florida at the Florida Old Time Music Championship 3 years running. Ron Whisler won 1st
place in Old Time Banjo in 2010 and Chuck Spano the same year for percussion. We have won awards for singing and also for Old
Time band.
Just In Time really loves the Old Time Style of music and try to stay authentic and as close to the traditional style as possible. Our
inspirations are Tommy Jarrell, Kyle Creed, Benton Flippin, Bob Carlin, John Herrmann, and the Carter Family. More
conventional inspirations come from David Bass, Jake Krack, George Gibson, Lloyd Baldwin and Chirp Smith among many others
and the band is always looking back to these old timers to add to their repertoire.
